My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach begins with the person-of-the-therapist, my most important and useful tool is myself in therapeutic relationship with my clients. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is my main modality for the coping skills, cognitive distortions challenges, breathing exercises, and emotional regulation techniques really translate to measurable progress. In my practice, I also draw from other mindfulness based approaches including Trauma Focused, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I strive to provide my clients with evidence of their uniqueness and superpowers. The way in which they are unique in all the world. Within each of my clients exists the capacity for change, for growth, and for resilience.

Anxiety

When you are anxious it can feel like an explosion of emotion in an otherwise calm world. Your body is telling you that danger is near. I teach clients to get out of survival mode and regulate to restore their sense of safety and connection.
Trauma

After a trauma, you exist in your own universe. Trying to dissociate or escape the flow is the path of most resistance. The mind-body connection is crucial. Body work, meditation, and yoga work well to heal through the wounding.
Depression

Depression can be debilitating and exhausting even if all you do is sleep, cry, and get from one day to the next. Self-care, practices, small victories or tasks, can help. Anything that brings enjoyment or makes you feel human is huge!
Stress

Stress can hit you at any moment like bird poop on your windshield. Many people try to eliminate or suppress stress. It is easier to alleviate by moving through and letting yourself feel it all without judgment, in a safe enough space.
